Eating Disorders

Nom du service

We all share a unique relationship with food, but for many of us, that connection can become a source of profound struggle. Eating disorders are complex conditions that go far beyond persistent behaviours; they deeply impact your physical health, your emotional landscape, and your ability to engage with life. Whether it is anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating, orthorexia or one of the 13 other forms these challenges take, they often create a painful disconnect, making you feel as though you are no longer in sync with your own body.

Our relationship with our bodies is rarely static; it is shaped by the world around us and the biological shifts within us. For many young people today, the natural vulnerability of adolescence is amplified by the relentless lens of social media. Growing up in a digital world where "perfection" is curated and filtered creates an immense pressure to conform. This constant comparison often leads to a deep-seated struggle to find peace with a changing body, turning what should be a time of discovery into a battle with self-image and self-worth.

In our quest for health, we can also fall into the quiet trap of orthorexia. This is a disorder born from the obsession with eating "correctly" or "purely." What begins as a desire for wellness can slowly morph into a rigid set of rules that dominates every thought, turning food into a source of anxiety rather than life. It is an exhausting cycle where the pursuit of health ironically begins to compromise your mental and emotional well-being, leaving little room for joy or spontaneity.

Furthermore, we often face moments where we feel a total loss of control as our bodies undergo profound hormonal or physical shifts. Whether it is the transition through menopause or andropause, the aftermath of giving birth, or the physical toll of health crises like cancer or autoimmune diseases, these changes can make our own bodies feel unrecognizable. These biological milestones—and the hormonal imbalances that accompany them—often disrupt our relationship with food and self-care, leaving us feeling betrayed by the very skin we live in.

My approach to these challenges is built on the belief that we can always find our way back to ourselves. This isn't just professional theory for me; it is a journey I have walked. In 2014, following a major surgery, I had to completely reinvent how I nourished my body and how I interpreted its needs. I had to start from scratch, relearning how to listen and how to care for myself in a way that felt safe again. This path of recovery showed me that healing isn't about restriction or force—it’s about reconciliation.

Through our work together, we use Sophrology to restore the dialogue between your mind and your physical sensations. By integrating conscious breathing, gentle movement, and positive visualisation, we aim to quiet the anxiety that so often surrounds food and mealtimes. The goal is to help you regain agency over what you truly have power over: your breath, your presence in the moment, and the kindness you show yourself.

Together, we will create a personal roadmap that respects your rhythm and your history. My role is to provide a secure space and practical tools so that your journey toward balance is not a solitary struggle, but a guided transition. We work toward a future where food no longer feels like a conflict, but a peaceful part of a life where you feel truly at home in your body.
